Dear Clients:

These are some pretty weird times we are living in, aren’t they?

Just wanted to check in and there are too many of you to contact individually. I look at my calendar and I see mini-sessions for Bunny Days (already passed) Boudoir Sessions, Pet Mini Sessions, Weddings, Senior Portraits, spring family portraits. Ouch. I miss you guys.

It’s so hard to know what to do because we are all on hold and we really don’t know when this will be over. As someone who lives by her Google Calendar, it’s killing me to not be able to deal with each week by saying “Ok, we will reschedule for ‘such and such’ a day. The future is so unsure right now, I am not confident enough to be rescheduling just yet.

I WILL be rescheduling all of our mini sessions and regular sessions but I want to wait until I know that I will definitely be “back in business” again because the thought of rescheduling everyone then needing to reschedule AGAIN is enough to make my brain explode!

Some brides have asked my opinion on what to do about their May/June/July Weddings. Of course I (like everyone else) have never been through anything like this and can’t tell you what to do for sure. But I can tell you how I have seen people deal with it:

  1. RESCHEDULE - This helps to cut down on the stress of “should I or shouldn’t I”. Just make the decision and go with it. Some are rescheduled for later this year and others are scheduled for 2021. I think these couples are just glad to be done with the stress of it.

  2. SECURE A BACK UP DATE - A lot of people have conferred with their vendors and have come up with alternate dates in case it’s not possible to go forward with their original wedding date. My advice is that you should do this sooner than later so that your vendors/venue’s schedules aren’t filled with other’s doing the same.

  3. WAIT - Some people are just waiting it out. That’s ok too but you might want to at the very least think about option #2 before alternative dates are all filled up.

In my opinion (and what do I know..not a lot) I think that I will be able to do regular sessions before weddings will be allowed to take place. I can’t see the government allowing large gatherings like weddings for a while. That makes me incredibly sad and I could be wrong but I think it might be a while.

I personally want to thank all of my clients for not only being understanding about having to cancel but also showing me their concern about my livelihood. I have been moved to tears more than once because of your friendship.

I will be in touch!
